Definition: Using computing and telecommunications for health care from doctor to doctor for clinical purposes.
serves to exchange medical information of any type of electronic media to improve the quality of medical services.
can also be defined as the provision of health care through a combination of telecommunications and multimedia technologies with medical experts.



Service Levels are the different stages that occur in health services within a state, within which it must make a classification based on the following schedule:


TELEHEALTH
is the integration of telecommunications systems for the promotion and protection of health in an institutional manner, through means such as telehealth
.
Remote diagnostics.
Tele education.




telehealth
is the interaction and information sharing of medical images in which the primary diagnosis is performed by general practitioners in the location of the patient. The purpose of the telehealth is to provide a second opinion by a remote specialist to confirm the diagnosis or to assist the local doctor to arrive at a correct diagnosis.
Videoconferencing is important to support face to face conversation. The video used for conferences, need not be of high quality in the early stages of operation, the audio should be clear.

telediagnosis
is the medical report which the primary diagnosis is made by a doctor at the remote location of the patient. The distinction between teleconsultation and remote diagnosis important is that with the remote diagnosis, there should be no significant loss of image quality for telemedicine system in the acquisition, compression, processing, transmission and display of information

Tele education
is the provision of educational materials using telecommunications networks. From the point of view of Tele medical education, this requires video conferencing capabilities to share documents and images
