HAPPY FLAG DAY IN THE HEART OF EVERYTHING ARGENTINE!
The city of Rosario is known as "Rosario Cuna de la Bandera", as it was on this site, on the banks of the Parana River, where Manuel Belgrano hoisted the first flag national. Since late nineteenth century began to plan the construction of a monument that pays tribute to Belgrano for giving the fledgling nation a flag. On June 20, 1957 was opened with a massive under the National Flag Monument, designed by architect and engineer Angel Guido. It occupies an area of \u200b\u200b10,000 square meters and contains three main parts: the central tower, the Propylaea Triumph of the Fatherland and Honor Gallery of American Flags and Civic Monumental Steps that unites both architectural bodies.
June 10, 1957, by Decree 4901, establishing the June 20, 1957 as the official date of the inauguration of the National Flag Monument in Rosario.
